Tom Brady Files Two New Trademarks for “Tompa Bay” and “Tampa Brady”

Tom Brady‘s company, TEB Capital Management Inc., has filed two new trademarks for “Tompa Bay” and “Tampa Brady.”

The filings were just made on April 6 and indicate that Brady‘s company has an intent-to-use the trademarks in association with clothing, headwear and footwear.

In the guts of the application, Tom Brady himself signed a sworn declaration that he has a bona fide intent to use the marks in association with those goods.

One possible reason Tom Brady is trying to get the trademark registrations for “Tompa Bay” and “Tampa Brady” is because other companies are already popping up in the marketplace selling merchandise with these phrases. If Brady were to own the registrations, it could be easier to shut down this type of unauthorized merchandise.

That said, in order to receive registration for the trademarks, Brady will need to prove that he is using the marks in commerce (meaning that he is actually selling goods using these trademarks).
