The San Francisco 49ers File Trademark Application for “NINERS GANG”

The San Francisco 49ers have filed a trademark application for “NINERS GANG.”

This filing especially interesting, because Bay Area legend E-40 recently dropped a new single called “Niner Gang” in support of the 49ers.

Following the success of the song in the Bay Area, the 49ers quickly moved to federally protect the phrase with a trademark application.

The application was filed on a 1(b) basis, indicating that the 49ers have an intent to use the trademark in connection with clothing and a football team. Though they are not currently using the mark, filing on a 1(b) basis reserves rights for the trademark to be used with goods and services in the near future.
