LA Clippers File Trademarks for “WIN THE WAIT”

The LA Clippers filed two trademark applications for “WIN THE WAIT” on April 27.

These applications come just a few weeks after a Twitter video of coach Doc Rivers was posted in which he told his team to find ways to ‘win the wait’ while games are canceled.

One application is drafted in a way that is typically done when trying to protect a slogan or name of a basketball team. For example, listed under the goods and services is “rendering live basketball games and basketball exhibitions.” This means that the slogan could possibly be used at Clippers games once the season resumes. The team also filed an application for clothing items, like t-shirts and hats.

In order for these trademarks to register, the LA Clippers will need to prove that they are using the slogan on the goods and services they listed, so we can likely expect to see “WIN THE WAIT” on products soon.
