MrBeast Files Trademark For ‘Beast Band,’ Signaling Possible Move Into Wearable Tech

MrBeast may be getting into the wearable technology business.

The YouTube star, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has filed a new U.S. trademark application for ‘Beast Band,’ indicating plans for a wearable activity tracker.

The application, filed on September 21 with the USPTO, is the latest in a series of trademark filings suggesting that Donaldson is looking to expand his rapidly growing business empire well beyond the videos that made him famous.

The ‘Beast Band’ application was filed on an “intent-to-use” basis, meaning the trademark was filed before the name was actually being used in commerce.

This type of application provides Donaldson with nationwide priority as of the filing date.

In other words, the filing gives MrBeast a way to protect the ‘Beast Band’ name while the product is still being developed.

The filing comes just weeks after Google announced a multi-year partnership with Beast Industries involving Gemini and Google Health.

Google said the partnership will integrate its technology directly into MrBeast’s content, including the use of Gemini in videos and Fitbit Air in an upcoming challenge.

Whether ‘Beast Band’ has anything to do with that partnership is unknown.

Building a Business Empire Beyond YouTube

The ‘Beast Band’ trademark filing also fits into a much larger pattern.

Starting in early 2025, Mr. Beast has made a series of trademark filings:

  • ‘MrBeast Mobile’ for wireless telephone services.
  • ‘MrBeast Financial’ for financial services including the operation of a bank, investment advisory services, a cryptocurrency exchange, and consumer lending.
  • ‘MrBeast Social’ for advertising and marketing services designed to help companies create online content and promote products through influencers and marketing campaigns.
  • ‘Beast Social’ for advertising and marketing services designed to help companies create online content and promote products through influencers and marketing campaigns.
  • ‘Watchtime Studios’ for the creation, development and production of video content.
  • ‘Creator Industries’ for an app/platform to help users create content, and a business accelerator aimed at supporting and educating creators or startups.

The filings indicate that Donaldson is looking for ways to expand his business empire beyond content.

While not every trademark application becomes a real business venture, taken together, the filings offer a window into just how broadly MrBeast appears to be thinking about the future of his brand.

Trademark filings are often one of the earliest public clues we get about where a company is headed. And MrBeast’s filings increasingly look less like those of a YouTube creator and more like those of a company attempting to build an entire ecosystem around one of the world’s most recognizable creator brands.

Financial services. Mobile service. Advertising and content businesses. And now, potentially, wearable technology.

The strategy itself is becoming increasingly clear…

MrBeast built an enormous audience through content. Now he appears to be exploring how many different businesses can be built around that audience.

And ‘Beast Band’ may be the latest piece of that puzzle.
