Nike Files Trademark for New ‘CA’ Logo, Likely Tied to Tennis Star Carlos Alcaraz
Nike has filed a new U.S. trademark application for a stylized ‘CA’ logo, a move that appears to signal the long-anticipated branding rollout for Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz.

The application, filed on January 21, covers a broad range of apparel and accessories, including footwear, headwear, shirts, jackets, wristbands, sports bags, and backpacks. While neither Nike nor Alcaraz has officially confirmed the logo, the filing closely aligns with expectations for a personal mark tied to the world-class athlete, whose signature logo has yet to be publicly released.
Alcaraz previously indicated that his logo would debut late last year, but no official unveiling followed.
The application was submitted on an “intent to use” basis, a common strategy among major brands. By filing before products hit the market, companies secure a federal priority date, which establishes presumptive nationwide rights to the mark. From that date forward, Nike would be in a strong position to challenge any third party attempting to use a confusingly similar logo on related goods.
Such pre-launch filings are standard practice for brand owners, particularly when a new trademark may be thrust into the spotlight quickly.
For now, the filing suggests that Nike and Alcaraz have settled on a logo and taken steps to protect it.
