A Look at the Trademarks Owned by Jalen Hurts

Jalen Hurts, born August 7, 1998, is a quarterback in the NFL. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020 and continues to be an integral part of the team.

High school football

Hurts began playing football at Channelview High School in Texas, where his father was his head coach. During his high school career, Jalen gained a reputation as a dual-threat quarterback, excelling in both passing and rushing. His remarkable performances earned him a four-star recruit rating and offers from several top collegiate programs.

Collegiate football career

While Texas A&M heavily recruited Hurts, he committed to the University of Alabama, where he would play for three years. Hurts quickly became Alabama’s starting quarterback in his freshman year, becoming the first true freshman in 32 years to start as a quarterback for Alabama.

Hurts would lead Alabama to play in the College Football Playoff National Championships in both his freshman and sophomore years. During the National Championships in his sophomore year, he would be benched for Tua Tagovailoa, who would lead Alabama to victory.

In his junior year, Hurts would become the backup quarterback behind Tagovailoa but still saw a significant amount of playing time that season. He graduated early, in December of 2018, and soon announced that he would spend his final year of eligibility playing for the University of Oklahoma.

Hurts helped lead Oklahoma to National Championships, before being drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles.

NFL career

The Eagles drafted Hurts as their third-string quarterback, but he quickly rose through the ranks to the backup position. He would eventually take over the starting position when Carson Wentz was benched.

During the 2021 season, Hurts was named the starting quarterback for the Eagles, a position he still holds today. Hurts would lead the Eagles to the playoffs, becoming the youngest Eagles quarterback to start in a playoff game. In the 2022 season, he would lead the Eagles to Super Bowl LVII against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Hurts signed a five-year contract extension with the Eagles in 2023. His contract extension included the first no-trade clause in Eagles’ history.

Philanthropy and personal endeavors

Jalen Hurts doesn’t just make an impact on the field, as he has shown his commitment to improving the lives of people in his community and is an advocate for women in sports. In 2024, Hurts donated $200,000 to Philadelphia schools for air conditioners and frequently speaks out about gun violence.

To that end, Hurts founded the Jalen Hurts Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young people through education, sports, and community involvement. The foundation’s initiatives include scholarship programs, youth football camps, and partnerships with local organizations to support underserved communities.
