VICE Media Files Trademark Application for “SHELTER IN PLACE”

VICE Media has filed a trademark application for “SHELTER IN PLACE.”

Filed on March 30, the application suggests that VICE Media has an intent to use the trademark in association with a show documenting the COVID-19 pandemic.

It lists entertainment services as the purpose for the mark, specifically in the field of “pandemic infectious disease and its global economic, political and social implications.”  This is the type of language a company would use in a trademark application if it was planning to launch a show under the trademark being filed.

When submitting the application, VICE Media was required to sign a declaration stating that the company has a “bona fide intent to use” the trademark in association with the goods and services listed in the application.  Therefore it is very likely a new show called “SHELTER IN PLACE” will be launched by the media company soon.
