Tim Tebow Trademarks

Tim Tebow is the first sophomore to ever win the Heisman Trophy and he led the Florida Gators to two national championships.

Timothy Richard Tebow was born in 1987 in Makati, Philippines. His parents are Baptist missionaries who were building a ministry. The family moved back to the United States when Tebow was a toddler. He was raised in Jacksonville, Florida, and played his first football at Trinity Christian Academy, although he was homeschooled. His family moved again and he finished his high school football career at Allen D. Nease High School.

Allen D. Nease High School was a smaller school and didn’t have as competitive of a football team, which allowed Tebow to change positions from tight end to quarterback based on his athleticism. He took the team to a Florida state championship and was named Florida’s Player of the Year, given All-State honors, and named an All-American. Tebow was also asked to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, which is televised nationally.

Tebow was recruited by many schools but chose to attend the University of Florida on a full athletic scholarship to play for Coach Urban Meyer. During his freshman year, he played in a two-quarterback system with Chris Leak. Even while splitting playing time, he made significant contributions to the team, scoring every touchdown in a game against Louisiana State University and scoring two touchdowns in the national championship game on the way to a victory.

He had an outstanding sophomore season and broke many school and division records. He was named first-team All-SEC and a first-team All-American. He was the first person to ever win the Heisman Trophy as a sophomore.

Tebow continued to have an outstanding college career and graduated in 2009 as one of the most decorated and accomplished collegiate football players of all time. He went on to play in the National Football League as a quarterback for the Broncos, Jets, Patriots, and Eagles. He also played tight end for the Jaguars for a short period of time.

In 2010, Tebow launched the Tim Tebow Foundation with the hopes of bringing faith, hope, and love to people going through difficult times.

One of the first projects initiated by the foundation was the W15H Program which grants wishes for sick children who are battling a life-threatening illness. The W15H Experience is completely customized to meet the needs and desires of each recipient. All expenses are paid for by the Tim Tebow Foundation including travel, any events attended, and a stay at a four-star property. The foundation grants at least 20 wishes every year and since wishes are dependent on the request of the individual recipient, many aspects of each wish vary. Some past W15H Experiences have included visiting Disney World, attending NFL games, and attending SEC game days.

The W15H program also includes the W15H Brighter Days program. This program involves granting small wishes that simply brighten the days of W15H children. These experiences include speaking engagements, meet and greet sessions, special phone calls, and hospital visits.

In 2011, the Tim Tebow Foundation filed a trademark application for “W15H” for charitable fundraising services and granting wishes to terminally ill children. It also obtained a federal trademark registration for a logo for the program for the same purposes. The logo shows the image of a football player along with two children. It includes the words “W15H TIM TEBOW FOUNDATION IN PARTNERSHIP WITH DREAMS COME TRUE FAITH HOPE LOVE”.

In 2013, the Tim Tebow Foundation applied for and received a federal trademark registration for a logo that is comprised of an electrocardiogram wave with a heart and a cross at either end for charitable services and charitable fundraising services. It later also obtained a federal trademark registration for the logo to be used with bracelets, stickers, and clothing items. The foundation also received a federal trademark registration of “#SERVE” for clothing like shirts and hats. The merchandise associated with this logo can be found on the foundation’s website. Proceeds from merchandise sales support the foundation and it is also often seen at foundation events.

The Night to Shine is an annual event that brings the prom experience to young people who have special needs. Every adolescent who attends the event is reminded that they are a king or queen. In 2022, the event was celebrated in 39 countries. The Tim Tebow Foundation obtained a federal trademark registration for “NIGHT TO SHINE” for conducting social events for people with special needs, jewelry, and entertainment services that include providing videos of these events. It also obtained a federal trademark registration for “BEYOND THE ROSES” for raising charitable funds for services for people with special needs.

In 2020, the Tim Tebow Foundation opened a new branch of the foundation to help fight human trafficking. The foundation is working with Her Song Jacksonville to help educate the public about human trafficking and provide outreach and victims’ services. In 2021, the Tim Tebow Foundation also filed an application to federally register “RESCUE THEM” as a trademark for charitable services, administering charitable contributions, and educational services.
