Miles Sanders is a professional football player for the National Football League. He plays running back for the Philadelphia Eagles and is also a former Pro Bowler.

Miles Adam Sanders was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on May 1, 1997. He was raised by his mother, Marlene Sanders, along with his older brother, Brian, and his younger brother, Kobe. As he grew up in the eastside Swissvale neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Sanders attended Woodland Hills High School. This school is well-known regionally as a football powerhouse.

In high school, Sanders ran track and played football. In track, he competed in the 100, 200, and 4×100 relay. He began his football career at Woodland Hills High School and was a three-year starter for the team at running back. He recorded 641 yards and 12 touchdowns, as a freshman. As a sophomore, he recorded 1,064 yards and 14 rushing touchdowns. In his junior year, he had 1,132 yards and 18 touchdowns. He would record more than 1,500 yards as a senior and scored 16 touchdowns.

As a team captain, Sanders also helped to lead his team to the State Championship game. Having recorded more than 1,000 for three consecutive seasons, he was widely considered a four-to-five-star recruit coming out of high school. At the end of his high school career, he was named Mr. Pennsylvania Football and was asked to play in the Under Armour All-America Game. Sanders was recruited by the Ohio State University and the University of Pittsburgh but opted to attend Penn State University instead.

As a true freshman at Penn State, Sanders was the backup to future NFL star, Saquon Barkley. He spent much of his time playing on special teams but did see some time on the field as a running back as well. He returned 33 kicks that season, setting a school record. Sanders recorded a total of 688 yards and averaged more than 20 yards per return on kick returns. He was also named as an honorable mention to the All-Big Ten Freshman Team.

In the following year, Sanders started in just one of the 12 games that he appeared in for the Penn State Nittany Lions. His first collegiate start was against Rutgers University. He also won the 2018 Red Worrell Award at Spring Practice.

During his junior year, Sanders was ranked second in the Big 10 in yardage, with 1,274 rushing yards. He started in 13 games that season and had nine touchdowns. He was named second-team All-Big Ten, as well as his team’s Most Valuable Offensive Player. Sanders decided to forego his final year of collegiate eligibility and declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Sanders was invited to the 2019 NFL Combine, where he recorded a 4.49-second, 40-yard dash and did 20 reps at the bench press. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round of the 2019 Draft.

Sanders started in 11 of the 16 games he played in for the Eagles that season, after making his professional debut in week 1. In a game against Washington, he broke the franchise records for most all-purpose yards and most rushing yards by a rookie. He recorded 509 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns for the season, and would also play in his first playoff game, which the Eagles lost.

Sanders started his second season with a hamstring injury, but quickly returned and had several standout performances. He rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns in a game against the Steelers. Sanders also recorded 188 yards against the Baltimore Ravens and 115 yards against the New Orleans Saints. He was selected to go to the 2020 Madden NFL Pro Bowl, which was played in lieu of an in-person football game, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

He racked up 270 yards in 2021, before being sidelined with a sprained ankle in week six of the season. Sanders returned from the injury after three weeks and finished the season with 754 yards and no touchdowns.

In 2021, under Miles Sanders LLC, Sanders obtained a federal trademark registration for “#RUNBOOBIERUN” for shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies.

He also filed a trademark application for a logo that is a stylized version of the letters “M” and “S” (his initials) for the same purposes.
