Dennis Schröder is a professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association. He plays point guard for the Houston Rockets.

Dennis Schröder was born in Braunschweig, Germany on September 15, 1993. His mother was from The Gambia and his father was German. Schröder focused on skateboarding with his father, until 2009, when his father passed away. At age 11, he began playing basketball and cites his father as his main inspiration.

He first played professional basketball for a farm team in his hometown of SG Braunschweig. He recorded an average of 7.8 points, 2.1 assists, and 1.6 rebounds per game and he helped his team to the playoffs that season. After averaging 12 points per game in the next season, he was named Best Young German Player and Basketball Bundesliga Most Improved Player. He played in the 2013 Nike Hoop Summit on the World Select Team and then declared for the NBA Draft.

Schröder was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks. Because he turned the ball over often in his first season, he only appeared in 49 games for the team that year. However, he still averaged almost four points with one rebound and one assist per game for the season. During the 2014-15 season, he started 10 of the 77 games that he played in and scored an average of 10 points with two rebounds and four assists per game.

The next year, Schröder started in six of the 80 games that he played in and his stats improved to 11 points per game, with an average of more than two rebounds and six assists per game. During the 2016-2017 season, he started in all but one of the team’s 79 games. He averaged almost 18 points per game with more than three rebounds and six assists per game. Schröder would start in all 67 games that he played for the Hawks during the 2017-18 season. He averaged more than 19 points per game with three rebounds and six assists per game.

In July 2018, Schröder was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder. He recorded 21 points, eight rebounds and six assists in his debut game with them. He played as the Thunder’s sixth man and recorded an average of 15.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and four assists per game that season. During the 2019-2020 season, he averaged almost 19 points per game with 3.6 rebounds and four assists per game.

Schröder was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers on November 18, 2020, where he recorded 14 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists in his debut for the team. He missed games twice that season due to the league’s COVID-19 protocols. For the season, he averaged 15.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game as a starter. His numbers dropped during the playoffs and the Lakers decided to part ways with him.

He signed with the Boston Celtics for the 2021-22 season, where he started in 25 of the 49 games he played in for them. Schröder averaged 14.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game, before he was traded to the Houston Rockets in February of 2022. He only played in 15 games for the Rockets, before his season ended early due to a shoulder injury.

In 2016, Dennis Schröder obtained a federal trademark registration for “FLEX GANG” for various clothing items including shirts, t-shirts and jackets. Flex Gang is the name of Schröder’s line of men’s clothing and accessories, and he describes the clothes as a “hip-hop, athletic streetwear line.”

Schröder also filed a trademark application for “PARENTS DE SANG” for hats, t-shirts, jerseys and other clothing items in 2020.

In 2121, Schröder obtained a federal trademark registration for “THAT’S TUFF” for use with hats, t-shirts, jerseys and other clothing items. “That’s Tuff” is his signature phrase which he often uses on social media platforms as a response or as a hashtag.
