Alim McNeill Trademarks

Alim McNeill is a professional athlete, who plays nose tackle for the Detroit Lions in the National Football League. He was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on May 11, 2000. McNeill attended Jesse O. Sanderson High School, where he played both baseball and football.

In baseball, he was a four-time academic All-Conference performer and a three-time All-Conference selection. During his senior year, his batting average was 355, he scored 19 runs, and recorded 22 hits. He had a total of 43 runs during the three years that he played baseball.

In football, McNeill played both the offense as a running back and defense as a linebacker. During his sophomore year, he scored 11 offensive touchdowns, and defensively he recorded seven sacks and 71 tackles, nine for a loss. As a junior, he scored 14 touchdowns, as well as having six sacks and 84 tackles, with 18 tackles for loss. McNeill recorded 163 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns during his senior year. Defensively, he had five sacks, 60 tackles, and 18 tackles for loss during his senior year. As team captain, he helped to take his team to the NC 4AA state quarterfinals and the Raleigh News & Observer named him 2017 Cap 7 Conference Player of the Year.

McNeill was invited to play in the U.S. Army All-American Game. He was generally considered a four-star recruit and was ranked as the 213th best player in the country by 247sports.com. He received offers from the University of Florida, University of Tennessee, and Clemson University, before choosing to attend North Carolina State University and play football for them.

As a freshman, McNeill started in only one of the 13 games that he played in. His start would be in the game against Wake Forest and recorded season highs of four tackles in each game against the University of North Carolina and Marshall University. For the season, he had 3.5 sacks, 24 tackles, and a forced fumble. As a sophomore, McNeill started in seven of the 11 games that he played in and would record nine sacks and 52 tackles for the season. He was named the Pro Football Focus Honorable Mention All-ACC. As a junior, he had one sack and 25 tackles, as well as one interception and one touchdown. Pro Football Focus and The Athletic both named him an All-American that season.

McNeill declared for the 2021 NFL Draft but was not invited to the 2021 NFL Combine. He was drafted by the Detroit Lions and was taken 72nd, during the third round of the draft. He signed a standard four-year rookie contract with the team.

During his rookie year, he started in six of the 16 regular-season games that he played in. He recorded two sacks, one against the Atlanta Falcons and the other against the Denver Broncos. He had a total of 33 tackles, 10 of which were solo tackles, during the regular season.

In 2021, Alim McNeill filed a trademark application for “ALIM THE DREAM” for use on t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies.
