Aaron Rodgers plays quarterback for the Green Bay Packers football team. He has won a Super Bowl, won the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award, and been named the Most Valuable Player of the league for three different years. He is considered by many to be one of the most skilled quarterbacks of all time.

A native Californian, Aaron Charles Rodgers is the son of Edward and Darla Leigh Rodgers. He was born in Chino, California and raised in Ukiah, California, where he played baseball and basketball as a child. In his teenage years his family returned to Chino and he attended Pleasant Valley High School. This was his first opportunity as a starting quarterback. He started for two years in high school and amassed over 4,400 passing yards. He graduated in 2002, having set many school records in football. Rodgers is also remembered for his high intelligence, scoring well on his college entrance exams and maintaining an A- average.

Not having the prototypical quarterback build, he was not offered any scholarships from colleges with division one football programs. Rodgers decided to attend community college. He went to Butte Community College, less than a half hour from his home. He had an impressive year as a freshman, throwing 26 touchdowns. He led his school to the NorCal Conference championship.

While scouting another player, he was discovered by California Golden Bears’ head coach, Jeff Tedford. He transferred to the University of California, Berkeley the next year. In his first year at the University of California, Berkeley, he threw the lowest percentage of passes intercepted in school history. In his second season there he led the Pac-10 with a 66.1% pass completion percentage. He entered the National Football League draft at the end of that season.

Rodgers had hoped to be selected by the local San Francisco 49ers, having grown up a fan of the team. He cites legendary 49ers Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana as one of his greatest football influences. To everyone’s surprise, including Rodgers’, he slipped from his expected placement in the draft and was selected by the Green Bay Packers at the end of the first round.

Rodgers sat for three years behind legendary Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre before being awarded the team’s starting position. In his first season as starter, he threw for over 4,000 yards. He also threw 24 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. He signed a new contract with the team at the end of the season for $65 million over a six year period. Rodgers second season with the Packers went even better and the team made it to the playoff wild card round, where they lost in what is considered an all-time classic game against the Arizona Cardinals. Rodgers was recognized with a trip to that season’s Pro Bowl.

The next season the team again made it to the playoff wild card round, this time winning, and eventually going on to defeat their rivals, the Chicago Bears in the NFC Championship. He then led his team to a victory in Super Bowl XLV. He was named Most Valuable Player of the game.

In 2011, the team won 15 games and only lost one, but lost out in the first round of the playoffs. His outstanding play still won him the league Most Valuable Player award. The next year, he took his team all the way to the NFC Championship game, and he earned his third trip to the Pro Bowl. He was injured for the majority of the 2013 season, but returned to the field in the 2014 season to take his team again to the NFC Championship, win another league Most Valuable Player award and be voted into another Pro Bowl. In 2015, Rodgers had one of his most famous plays, throwing a Hail Mary Touchdown to tight end Richard Rodgers with no time on the clock to defeat the Detroit Lions. He completed a second Hail Mary later in the season, however, the team still lost the game.

The 2016 season started rough, but Rodgers still led his team to another NFC Championship game and was selected to his sixth Pro Bowl. Rodgers suffered a broken collar bone and did not play for a majority of the 2017 season. In 2018, Rodgers’ Packers did not make the playoffs, however he was still selected to the Pro Bowl. In 2019, Rodgers and the Packers returned to the NFC Championship Game. In 2020, Rodgers led the team to the divisional round of the playoffs, won another league Most Valuable Player award and was voted to his ninth Pro Bowl.

After several high-profile relationships, he became engaged to actress Shailene Woodley in 2021.

Aaron is well known for his humanitarian and charitable efforts. He co-founded a charity to celebrate people who are changing the world. He supports Raise Hope for Congo and the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer Fund. Rodgers also has an endowed scholarship at the University of California, Berkeley.

In terms of business, he is the first active NFL player to own stock in a National Basketball Association franchise (the Milwaukee Bucks). Rodgers is one of the top fifty highest paid athletes in the world and has endorsed several companies and products, including Pizza Hut, Izod, Sharpie, Adidas and State Farm. He registered a trademark for his name in 2012, and he also filed a trademark application for his name and number “Aaron Rodgers 12” the same year. He has not registered any other trademarks.

Aaron Rodgers is still an active player in the National Football League. He lives in Green Bay, Wisconsin during the football season and Los Angeles, California in the off season. It is believed that his estimated net worth is $120 million.
