The New Orleans Advocate Quotes Josh Gerben about Zion Williamson’s “Let’s Dance” trademark filings

Days after the New Orleans Pelicans drafted Zion Williamson to their team, both he and the team filed a trademark for the phrase “Let’s Dance”.  However, the Pelicans have since withdrawn their application.  Afterwards, Williamson filed numerous trademarks using the same phrase, but with different product offerings.

Josh Gerben was quoted by The New Orleans Advocate as to the speculation behind the Pelicans’ withdrawal:

““This leaves those two applications as dead and … presumably they are doing this to clear the way for Zion Williamson to own the phrase himself,”
