The Action Network Quotes Josh Gerben About Madison Square Garden’s New Trademark Filing

Madison Square Garden is looking to add another trademark to their existing portfolio.  They recently filed a USPTO application for the mark “MSG” for sports-betting mobile applications and tournaments.  However, the company has stated they have no immediate plans when it comes to this new venture.

Josh Gerben was quoted by The Action Network about whether there’s any truth to Madison Square Garden’s plans relating to the online sports betting industry:

Gerben points out that the paperwork contains a signed sworn statement that the company has a “bona fide intent” to use the trademark for the stated goods and services.

“This means the company likely has real plans to launch an app and other services in the field of sports betting,” said Gerben, the principal of Gerben Law, a trademark law firm based in Washington, D.C.
