SportsRadio 94WIP Talks with Josh Gerben About the Phillie Phanatic Lawsuit

The Philadelphia Phillies have recently filed a federal lawsuit regarding their mascot, the Phillie Phanatic.  Owners of a design firm that is well known to the puppeteer industry are claiming that they are owned a large sum of money in order for the Phillies to be able to use their costume design.

Josh Gerben recently talked with the radio crew from Angelo Cataldi And The Morning Team about this lawsuit.  Here are the highlights from the discussion:

3:00 – Depiction of the history of the Phillie Phanatic costume, explanation of the copyright law

4:47 – Analysis of chances regarding whether the design firm still has rights to the costume, and what the Phillies could have to pay to continue use of the costume
