Reuters Quotes Josh Gerben Regarding the Ongoing Trademark Squatting in Russia

After the invasion of the Ukraine earlier this year, many Western companies pulled out of Russia in protest. Since then the Russian trademark office has seen many applications for the trademarks of Western brands, which have been filed by Russian entrepreneurs.

Reuters spoke to Josh Gerben about the reason behind the influx of Russian trademark filings. 

Some entrepreneurs in Russia are trying to “Russify” Western brands, said Josh Gerben, founding partner of law firm Gerben Perrott, PLLC.
