Portland Business Journal Quotes Josh Gerben About Kawhi Leonard-Nike Trademark Litigation

The 2019 NBA Finals’ MVP Kawhi Leonard has brought a lawsuit against Nike regarding a logo protected by a Nike-owned copyright. Leonard and his attorneys have just agreed to give Nike more time to formally respond to his lawsuit.
Josh Gerben was quoted by the Portland Business Journal regarding the meaning of this filing:
“When parties consent to this type of extension of time, they’re optimistic that they’re going to be able to work out something before further litigation is needed,”
There is an update in the lawsuit between Kawhi Leonard and Nike.
On Friday, Kawhi and Nike filed a joint motion to allow for “an extension of time for Nike to file an Answer…”
This likely means the parties are working on a settlement.
