Josh Gerben Breaks Down X Corp’s Trademark Dispute with Operation Bluebird for The Verge
X Corp. filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against Operation Bluebird, the startup that recently attempted to cancel X Corp.’s ‘Twitter’ trademarks, while filing its own trademark applications for the brand.
In the lawsuit, X Corp. claims that “Twitter never left and continues to be exclusively owned by X Corp.”
Josh Gerben analyzed the trademark infringement lawsuit for The Verge.
“X Corp. didn’t have to file the lawsuit, since the company could have defended the cancellation petition at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board instead,” said Gerben.
“This case shows that while X Corp. may have tried to bury the Twitter brand, they clearly aren’t ready to let anyone else dig it up.”
