Business Insider Speaks with Eric Perrott About Fraudulent Website, NewsAnchored
NewsAnchored, a company that claims to sell guaranteed news coverage on its various websites, has come under scrutiny from business owners and SEO experts for some questionable practices. The company is allegedly creating websites that look very similar to highly-reputable publications such as Rolling Stone, New York Post and more.
Business Insider spoke with trademark attorney Eric Perrott about NewsAnchored’s practices.
NewsAnchored markets its many websites to SEO and PR agencies as a way to guarantee news coverage for companies by reputable websites. However, many of the websites look very similar to the websites of well-known news/media brands and are full of AI-written stories.
“Whoever set up this website appears to think that if they don’t use the name, they are free to do whatever they want. That’s definitely not the case,” said Eric Perrott, a trademark lawyer at Gerben Perrott.
