Demario Davis Trademarks

Demario Davis was born in Brandon, Mississippi on January 11, 1989, to Sue Magee and Steven Davis. He played football and basketball and ran track at Brandon High School. He mostly played as a wide receiver in high school, having 386 yards and four touchdowns as a senior. Defensively, as a senior, he had one sack, 81 tackles, and six interceptions.

Davis chose to attend Arkansas State University, where he redshirted his freshman year and spent the year playing on the scout team. In 2008, he did not start for the team, but he did play in 11 games, recording 17 tackles for the season. He also returned a fumble for a touchdown in a game against Texas Southern. In 2009, he was named the team’s starting outside linebacker. Demario started in 12 games, where he had three sacks and 80 tackles. He also had one interception, which he returned for a touchdown, in a game against Iowa. In 2010, he had one sack, two interceptions, 63 tackles, and two forced fumbles, one of which he recovered. In 2011, he had 10 tackles for loss and helped to lead his team to an 8-0 conference record and a Sun Belt Conference title.

The New York Jets picked Davis in the 2011 draft. He was initially signed to a four-year deal, that was worth almost three million dollars. He made the 63-man roster as a third-string weakside linebacker. He saw some playing time in the season opener against the Buffalo Bills, but his first tackle as a professional came in week three of that season against the Miami Dolphins. He was promoted to starter due to the injury of another player, and he started in three games that year, playing in 16 total. He had a total of 36 tackles and a fumble recovery.

Demario was named the starter for the 2013 season and played in 16 games. He had a total of 107 tackles, an interception, a pass deflection, and a sack. During the 2014 season, he had two sacks in a game against the Green Bay Packers in week two. He started all 16 games and had a total of three and a half sacks, 116 tackles, and five pass deflections for the season. In 2015, he started 16 games and had two sacks, 90 tackles, and two pass deflections.

In 2016, he signed with the Cleveland Browns as an unrestricted free agent. His contract was for eight million dollars over two years and he was named a starter before the regular season began. He had seven tackles in their season opener. Davis started in all 16 games and had two sacks, 99 tackles, and two pass deflections that season.

After a Browns coaching change, Demario Davis was traded back to the New York Jets for the following season. He was again named a starting inside linebacker for the team and had 14 tackles and half a sack in the Jets’ season opener against the Buffalo Bills. He had the sixth most tackles in the National Football League that year, with 135 tackles. He also had five sacks, which was a career-high, and three pass deflections.

Davis again found himself as an unrestricted free agent and he signed with the New Orleans Saints in 2018. His contract was worth $24 million over three years. In his first season with the Saints, he was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week in week four for his performance against the New York Giants. For the year, he started in 16 games, had five sacks, 110 tackles, and two forced fumbles, one of which he recovered. In 2019, he started in all 16 games for the Saints. He had a stand-out game in week ten, with 11 tackles and one sack, which was a team-high at that time. For the season, he had one interception, four sacks, and 111 tackles.

In September of 2020, Davis signed a contract extension with the Saints. His extension was worth $27 million over three years. He started in all 16 games for the Saints that season and recorded four sacks and 119 tackles. His contract was restructured in March of 2021.

In 2019, Davis filed a trademark application for the phrase “PROWL KILL EAT” to be used on clothing such as shirts, pants, jackets, and footwear. He also applied for a trademark for the phrase “PROWL KILL EAT” to be used in relation to retail stores that sell items such as clothing, insulated beverage containers, and souvenirs, both online and in person.

Demario also filed a trademark application for “HUNTINGSZN” in October of 2019 to cover use on clothing like jackets, scarves, footwear, and gloves. He also applied for a trademark registration for “HUNTINGSZN” to be used in relation to retail stores, both online and in person, that sell items like clothing, souvenirs, drinkware, stickers, and decals.
