Gerben IP’s Eric Perrott recognized by the American Bar Association

Gerben IP is pleased to announce Attorney Eric Perrott has been recognized by the American Bar Association for Outstanding Leadership Contribution. On Wednesday, April 10, 2019, Eric attended the ABA’s annual Spring Conference Leadership Dinner, where he was recognized by Mark Dickson, Chair of the IPL Section. During the dinner, Dickson spoke about Eric’s work on official comments on behalf of the ABA, as well as leading the Trademark Operations committee.

After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, Eric studied law at American University’s Washington College of Law. Since then, Eric has devoted his career to intellectual property law. He is an attorney at Gerben IP, where he has been practicing since 2014.

Eric serves as the Chair of the ABA Intellectual Property Division’s Committee on USPTO Operations Related to Trademarks. He manages the ABA’s official comments and responses to USPTO policy changes, while helping to provide fellow trademark attorneys with information and updates coming from the USPTO. Eric has said of his work with the ABA: “Policy changes affect every attorney and there is no better way to stay ‘up on’ policy changes than to help shape them. To me, that is the top reason to join the ABA and get involved.”

Josh Gerben, trademark attorney and founder of Gerben IP, was pleased to see Eric recognized by the American Bar Association, saying in part: “I’ve seen the excellent work Eric has done over the past few years with the ABA. This award is well deserved.”
