Ben Affleck is a renowned American actor and filmmaker who has played leading roles in drama, comedy, and action movies. He is recognized for his work as a director, producer, and screenwriter. Ben Affleck lived in Cambridge, Massachusetts. His first performance was in a commercial for Burger King. In 1984, he also performed in the Public Broadcasting Service’s “The Voyage of the Mimi.” Ben Affleck continued to pursue his acting career as a teen in the TV drama “Hands of a stranger” in 1987. In 1988, he acted in “The Second of The Voyage of The Mimi.”

Ben Affleck managed both his studies and acting together for awhile, though he ended up discontinuing his studies just before graduation, to focus on his acting career. In his initial career days, Affleck played minor roles in various films like “Dazed and Confused” in 1993 and Kevin Smith’s “Mallrats” in 1995. His acting skills impressed Smith to the extent that he again cast him in the lead role in his next film, “Chasing Army” in 1997. After that, Affleck and his friend, Matt Damon, decided to make a film “Good Will Hunting” in which Damon starred as Will Hunting. The popularity and success of the film lead to nine Academy Nominations, and they both won an Oscar for best play on-screen.

The movie “Good Will Hunting” was the turning point in Affleck’s career. Right after this, he acted in various films such as “Armageddon,” “Shakespeare In Love,” and “Dogma.” Then, in 2001, he played a passionate American pilot confronting the British in World War 2. This film was a hit in the box office, but at the same time, the film was criticized by fans.

Later, Ben Affleck also started producing movies. He did notable work on Project Greenlight, a reality show that documented aspiring screenwriters in 2001, 2003, and 2005. In 2001, he also played a CIA agent in “The Sum of All Fears,” which was successful. Ben Affleck was always very passionate and focused on his acting career.

In 2003, Ben Affleck was cast opposite Jennifer Lopez in “Gigli.” Later, they both got engaged, and the immense news coverage overshadowed Affleck’s career. Later, he dated Jennifer Garner and married her in 2005. However, they were separated in 2018. He signed a Hollywood-land biopic of a former Superman actor. Through this film, he earned a lot of praise and a Golden Globe Award nomination. In 2009, Affleck played a role in “He’s Just Not That into You” opposite Jennifer Aniston.

In 2010 he did many movies and dramas like “The Company Men,” which revolved around business downsizing. In the year 2013, Affleck played the role of an online gambler in “Runner.” In 2014, Affleck starred in “Gone Girl” which became a popular and well-loved film. Another crucial career role was when he played Batman in the movie “Batman vs. Superman.” In 2016, he appeared in “Justice League.”

In 2007, Ben Affleck directed his first movie, “Gone Baby Gone.” The film was based on the Dennis Lehane’s novel, in which two detectives search for the missing girl. This film was a big hit that boosted Ben Affleck’s career. Then he directed another movie and cast himself in “Argo.” This film is about fake filmmakers that give cover for a CIA mission during the Iran crisis.

Ben Affleck won a Golden Award for his director role in “Argo.” He also won the Academy Award for the Best Movie. After some time, Ben returned to the director’s position when he directed “Live by Night” in 2016.

Ben Affleck was active in politics too. Eventually, he appeared at various rallies and as a chief guest on political TV shows. In 2017, MTV commentator accused Ben Affleck of abusing her during TRL in 2001. Afterward, Ben Affleck apologized publicly for his behavior.

Ben Affleck worked on various awareness campaigns, such as the fight against a rare disease known as Ataxia-telangiectasia, a genetic disorder, which causes neurological damage.
