Damian Lillard is an Olympic gold medalist, a six-time NBA All-Star, a two-time Big Sky Player of the Year, and is a nationally recognized recording artist.

Damian Lamonte Ollie Lillard Sr was born in Oakland, California on July 15, 1990. He began playing basketball as a freshman at Arroyo High School. After his coach left the school, he transferred to the prestigious St. Joseph Notre Dame High School. Unhappy with his playing time, he then transferred to Oakland High School for his junior year. He found success there, being named First Team All-League and averaging around twenty points per game for both years that he played there. The Oakland Wildcats would go on to retire his number 1 jersey.

Only a two-star recruit, he received a scholarship from Weber State located in Ogden, Utah. During his time at Weber State, he was Big Sky Conference Freshman of the Year and a two-time Big Sky Player of the Year. He skipped his senior year to declare for the NBA Draft and he finished his college career with the fifth-most points scored in Big Sky history. Lillard was drafted sixth by the Portland Trail Blazers.

He is one of only three players to score more than 20 points and have more than 10 assists in their professional debut. He won the Skills Challenge at NBA All-Star Weekend and was the first Trail Blazer to win an event at All-Star Weekend. He swept the Western Conference Rookie of the Month honors and was the first to do so. He unanimously won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award.

In his second season, he was the first-ever player to participate in all five events during the All-Star festivities. He also helped to lead the Trail Blazers to their first playoff series win in more than a decade. He was selected to the All-NBA Third Team. His third professional season was the 2014-2015 season, and he was also selected to play in the NBA All-Star Game that year. He signed a $120 million, five-year contract with Portland before the 2015-2016 season. In his fourth year playing professionally, he finished with more than 25 points per game in the regular season and was eighth in the MVP race. He won the Magic Johnson Award for the 2016–17 season, which recognized both his basketball skills, as well as his media cooperation and public dignity. He became the first Trail Blazer to score more than 9,000 points in November of 2017 and later that year, the player to reach 10,000 points the fastest. He earned All-NBA First Team honors and placed fourth in the MVP vote. He was sixth in the 2019 MVP votes and helped to lead the Trail Blazers to the Western Conference Finals – their first appearance in the Western Conference Finals in almost 20 years. The team was eliminated after he suffered a rib injury. During the 2019-2020 season, he had three games where he scored more than 60 points, making him the only player other than Wilt Chamberlain to do so. In 2021, he led his team back to the playoffs only to be eliminated in the first round.

In 2021, he competed in the Olympic Games in Tokyo as part of Team USA, helping the team to win gold.

Outside of basketball, Lillard is a nationally recognized recording artist. He performs under the name Dame D.O.L.L.A. He has recorded four studio albums, The Letter O (2016), Confirmed (2017), Big D.O.L.L.A. (2019), and Different On Levels The Lord Allowed (2021). They were all released by the recording label, Front Page Music. He has released nine other singles and was featured on four more, the most notable being “Kobe” (2020), which also featured Snoop Dogg and Derrick Milano.

Lillard also voiced the character of Chronos in Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021).

Lillard has obtained a federal trademark registration for his name, to be used to endorse the services and products of others. He also filed federal trademark applications for “La Heem” and “Logo Lillard,” which are nicknames of his, all of which are intended to be used for clothing.

Damian also filed trademark applications for “You know what time it is,” and “YKNWTII,” a phrase and abbreviation he coined and often uses. Both of these items are to be used for clothing and can currently be purchased on his website.

He has also applied for federal trademark registration for the phrases “Lillard Time” and “Dame Time.” Damian intends to use these phrases for apparel, namely t-shirts, sweatshirts and hooded sweatshirts, footwear and headwear.

Damian Lillard is currently an active player for the Portland Trail Blazers and is also still recording new music. Lillard currently owns homes in both Oakland, California, and Lake Oswego, Oregon. His net worth is believed to be around $70 million.
