Marshawn Lynch Files Trademark Application for “BEAST QUAKE”
Marshawn Lynch has filed a trademark application for “BEAST QUAKE.” The filing was made with the USPTO on December 17, just days before Marshawn re-signed with the Seattle Seahawks.
Beast Quake refers to the play that Marshawn made last time he played for Seattle, where he broke nine tackles on route to a 67-yard touchdown run. The resulting celebration from the crowd in Seattle was so intense that it registered on a local seismic monitor.
Marshawn filed the application on an “intent to use” basis. This means that he has a “bona fide intent” to use the trademark in association with the goods listed in the application. The goods listed in the application range from a clothing brand to non-alcoholic beverages.
Surprisingly, this is the first attempt made to protect this phrase.
